Fix 1. Kill Chrome using Task Manager

If Google Chrome is not working then you can close it using close button. But sometimes that close button is not responding. In that case, you can use Task Manager to forced close Google Chrome. You can open Task Manager from Taskbar or using Alt + Ctrl + Del key combinations. Or you can right click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.



1: Open Task Manager using Alt + Ctrl + Del and then go to process tab.

2: Find Google Chrome and then right Click on it.

3. Select End process and once Chrome closed, relaunch Google Chrome.

Fix 2: Disable Antivirus Programs

Sometimes due to Anti-virus Apps, Google Chrome Services may be blocked and give you an error. So, first of all, disable your Anti-Virus Program and then try to reopen Google Chrome.
Fix 3: Delete User Profile

1: Open Run from the start menu and then type below code and then press Enter.

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

2: Find Default folder > Copy it to another drive > delete the “Default folder”.



3: Now Launch Chrome Again > Settings > Advanced > Reset > Confirm. This will Delete User Profile.

Fix 4: Disable Chrome Extensions

Try to disable all the installed Google Chrome Extensions. Go to the Extensions tab and then disable them all. Once done. reboot PC and then open Google Chrome.
Fix 5: Run Chrome Cleanup Tool

Chrome Cleanup Tool is built in tool from Google to remove unwanted ads, pop-ups & malware. All you have to do is just open the tool and run it.

Fix 6: Reinstall Chrome

This is the last option. If none of the above methods are working for you then you have to reinstall Google Chrome. Go to Control Panel and uninstall Google Chrome.

Reboot PC and then Download Google Chrome from the official Google Chrome website.
